With the enhanced feature of twitter, now from twitter’s profile anyone can find their facebook & linkedin friends, colleagues and favorite celebrities, experts in their industry or brands & follow them. Hopefully Facebook application issue will be short out soon. I think that it would be great if twitter also provide facility to find & Follow Myspace friends. So far, this new feature of twitter will make them more popular on social networking industry.

How Social Media Optimization Boost Targeted Traffic and Sales

Social media optimization is an effective strategy of promoting your blog or website through social media networking websites. Social media optimization has been become an effective strategy to get back-links, brand exposure, and targeted website traffic.

When it is social media optimization, only quality counts and not the quantity! The power of word-of-mouth analytics and optimization has on the earlier accounts have helped the marketers to measure, manage, and monetize earned media.

Holding thousands of twitter followers or Facebook fans doesn’t mean that your social media marketing campaigns are paying off well. Researches have shown that close to 1% of the website’s audience is helpful in producing majority of the relevant web traffic, either through link exchange or content posting on other websites.

It is important to consider here that influencers influence the most valuable audience. Further, the ultimate purpose of influencers is not to amass audience in the social media websites and traffic inflow to your website. Another aspect to see is how one should engage the influencers with special offers and other unique content so that their social sphere helps you generate quality traffic and meaningful conversions.

Listed below are some of the effective tips that brands can utilize to head off marketing campaigns with the help of influencers:

Who is your Target Traffic: It is important to understand the nature of target traffic.. To find target traffic there is need to use social media tracking and measurement tool. These social media tracking and measurement tools help to save valuable time as we know social media marketing might be a time consuming process if it is not plan effectively.

What Your Audience Likes: After identifying targeted audience, use social media analytics to expose what’s your targeted audience most often likes to share. So you can divide your audience who love your post related to discount offers, latest research etc.

Where to connect & Share: Now, identify important social networking websites where your valuable audience active. These important social networking websites could be Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Linkedin etc.

What Motivates Your Traffic: Again you need to carefully analyse, what motivates your audience. It is very crucial to know because more the quality audience following the campaign, higher will be the success rate.

Hence, chatting with your valuable target audience will help you to boost your website popularity. Driving more valuable traffic towards your website will help you to increase your website’s conversion rate as well.

Twitter Homepage Design Update

As per Twitter announcement of testing of new home page design on 30th March, 2010 which is based on wide view of a set of algorithmically selected features, has been live. Twitter’s new home page design incorporates more dynamic content on home page. It includes sample of who is here, what they are talking & discussing. Top tweets automatically appear on home page & refresh in every few seconds. Here is screenshot of twitter’s new home page:

Twitter-homepage-screen

Last year twitter updated its design to introduce search and trending topic more visible on its home page. They introduced features of search.twitter.com to the homepage.  New home page design is more attractive and informative its “See who’s here” banner shows 20 twitter’s folk & 3 famous tweets under top tweets.

So now from the homepage of twitter anyone can get updated top tweets which help user to find what’s discussing on twitter. Also “See who’s here” will help to find Friends and industry peers you know or Celebrities you watch or Businesses you frequent. In addition, I mostly like the link of “Twitter 101”, the Twitter Guide for Business. These will defiantly help user, however I think if they also add “Top Trending Topics” as on there search result page or user Home page that will again help new user to find what is top trending topic on twitter right now directly from home page.

Google launched buzz on 9th February 2010. It was seen massive interest on its launch day. According to new study by online ad network Chitika twitter has seen consistent interest, both across the Chitika network & Google launched buzz on 9th February 2010. It was seen massive interest on its launch day. According to new study by online ad network Chitika twitter has seen consistent interest, both across the Chitika network & Google’s Insights tool whereas buzz  in most cases elicited less than 10 searches per day.

googlebuzz-vs-twitter

Online ad network Chitika explains in its blog post:

“February 9th, 2010 – the day Buzz was launched – the search engines lit up with queries.  The Chitika network saw about 1,500 searches that day for the term “Google Buzz,” approximately 15 times the number of searches for ‘Twitter’.

However, those searches dropped off quickly – on February 10th, there were 580 searches; on the 11th, 147.  From the 12th on – only three days removed from Buzz’s much-hyped launch – searches for Google Buzz failed to break three digits, and in most cases elicited less than 10 searches per day.  During the same time, searches for Twitter remained fairly stable, averaging about 87 searches per day.”

Google’s insight for search tool spells the same story. In below given graph red color is taken for twitter & blue colour is taken for buzz.

I think it’s a positive sign for social-media king twitter. Twitter has changed its design to make it more attractive and informative. For more information about this survey click here.

Twitter: Twitter is Rocking High

Twitter is making the tumult over the web, since its launch in the year 2006, as the most favored social network website. It has been ranked as America’s No. 38 on the basis of hit counts. And the amazing thing out here is that none other than pop superstar Oprah Winfrey has acknowledged it.

Being simple in design, and easy to use features, ideally makes twitter.com the most popular website today. You can do many usual and unusual things when in twitter. You can mail a private message to your friend, or you can send across a prank, follow any celebrity, or else, even block any online marketer that is irritating you with its cheap marketing tactics. What is Stored in the Twitter?

  • Powerful Search Options – The search box option provided in the Twitter interface offers advanced search facilities to the user. Moreover, there’s special character search tool that allows you to look for any jargon word.
  • Twitter can be used for SMS and Text Purposes! It allows the user to send 140 characters of tweets. All you need to do is to just log into the at twitter.com account, click settings, go to devices and finally add your phone.
  • Smoothly Integrates Facebook – If you are those ardent Facebook users, then you have the opportunity to tweet over the facebook. The best way out would be clicking on twitter.com/widgets/ facebook and then making the click on the page bottom that reads “Install Twitter in Facebook.”
  • Add Tweets of your Choice in the Favourites Folder – Yeah… this is yet another clandestine feature available at twitter.com that allows you to add your favourite tweets for the repository by simply clicking over the favourite’s link.
  • You can Share Photos – You would not be able to pass on your photograph, but you can pass on the URL link to your photograph. Just login to twitpic.com with the same username and password as that of the twitter, and then upload the photo.
  • Use Desktop/Laptop Client – Applications such as Digsby (for windows) and Twitterrific (for Mac users) simply allow you to displays Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other e-mail accounts in one window. You can also use a freeware TweetDeck which is compatible with both Mac as well as Windows. The TweetDeck is one unique kind of software that makes different groups of friends and tweets into different columns. All these can help you to send and receive tweets directly from the desktop, without using the browser.
  • Time Efficient – With the built in link called TweetBeep.com, twitter sends you email after the gap of an hour in case any mail comes directly in your name, or your company’s name or referencing to any latest tweets. This is a browser activated tool, and makes twitter more exciting to use.
  • Smart Phone Apps –Twitter has custom designed smart phone applications, vis-à-vis, TwitterBerry for BlackBerry, Tweetie for iPhones, and Twidroid for G1 Android phones.
  • Phone Call Transferring System – Your twitter has the innate capabilities in the form of voice recognition system that allows it to transfer the calls from your phone, and converts your spoken words into text, and finally can send these transcribed words through your account. However, it still lacks the facility of parsing the username and hashtags!

Twitter for Office Applications – Spreadtweet imitates the dull looking Excel spreadsheet. OutTwit brings the powerful Twitter support smartly integrated into Microsoft Outlook. You know what… with the application you can easily send and read tweets within the interface of the Microsoft Outlook, and on the similar tone, archive and group and look for them as e-mail messages.
